Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, January 3, 1880, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution
Saturday, Jan 3, 1880 Booth came and I have about finished the Don Caesar. I have felt very troubled and worried today. Whittredge called and Eastman Johnson and Eastman and I had a long talk. Mrs. Wheeler called with the two Misses Cooper. Joe Tomkins has arrived and dined at Marys today and went to the club with me. Miss Mabel White arrived at Marys tonight on her way home from Harrisburgh. I had a note from Lily French from Philadelphia which I answered.
