Thursday, Dec 20, 1883 All day at work on my figure. Whittredge brought me the sketch of the hives which I used. Century minutes meeting in the evening. Newtons case reported upon by March and his report intend to be presented to the communal meeting. Marbury[?] anxious to meet the emergency by a regimes policy which is my feeling some have exhausted all means towards an adjustment. Mr. Gordon is to retire from the board. He told me he is to retire from business, sell out everything and go to England. I tried to express to him my sincere regret, for I have the highest esteem for him.
