Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, October 22, 1883, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution
Monday, Oct 22, 1883 Mr. Parcell the carpenter came this morning as agreed and we have been at work all day pulling down the old wood house preparatory to moving it down below the barn. It has been an exquisite day. Downing returned today having spent Sunday with Mrs. Warnell at Fishkill. A letter from Lucy today gave an account of a visit from Lieut. Ray and Dr Oldmixen who have just returned from Point Barrow, within the Arctic circle where they have been the past two years.
