Sunday, Mar 2, 1884 Bowyer and Grant went skating. I wrote to Lucy to Louise Weir, and to Alice. After dinner Mary, Sara and I took a sleigh ride out on the Saugerties road crossing over to the Flat-bush road. The sleighing was excellent and the weather cold. I noticed with regret how they are cutting down the woods everywhere.
