Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, September 12, 1884, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution
Friday, Sept 12, 1884 Went to N. Y. this morning by W. S. road. A cool delightful day after the intense heat. Saw Mr. Wells about the studio alterations and he thought I need not be troubled at least before the middle of Oct. and perhaps later so I decided not to do any thing but to come home. Had lunch down town and went up to Marys. Found Calvert was coming up by the Powell so we came together and are going out to the mountains tomorrow to Wilburs in Mink Hollow. The weather is fine and cool.
