Monday, June 29, 1885 My Father and I drove down town shortly after breakfast and then out on the Saugerties road as far as Sanders where we turned in along the edge of the woods and returned by Deacon Osterhondts. The wind was from the N. W. and there was a fresh feeling in the air after the little shower of yesterday. We stopped at the West Shore station on our return and saw Tom McEntee who had gone up to take the train on his way home. I have been busy about a thousand things this afternoon, and am tired. Sara and I start for Wilbers in Mink Hollow early tomorrow morning. I am going out to make a sketch on the brook for Mrs. Warrens picture. It is cool tonight and the wind N. W. There is almost a fall feeling in the air. Received a letter from Weir today, and a postal card from Mr. Kimball of Medway saying Royal Reed is still living there and that he will speak to him about my having written to him. I wonder why he does not write.
