Biographical/Historical Note
Estelle Glaser De Escobar (1908-unknown) was a painter who lived and worked in both Brooklyn, New York and Bogotá, Colombia. De Escobar was born in Brooklyn in 1908, and completed her studies at Cooper Union Women's Art School in 1930. She married Luis Javier Escobar Lopez in 1932 and moved to Bogotá, Colombia. During the 1950s De Escobar taught art at the University Javeriana Femenina in Bogotá before returning to the United States around 1960. Thereafter she taught at Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn and at Cooper Union Women's Art School. De Escobar exhibited her works primarily in Brooklyn, Bogotá, and Rome.
