Artwork consists primarily of sketches, including color sketches, executed by Battenberg for various projects, most notably his animal sculptures, Wing Walker series, and various components of his work, Gates of Arcadia. Also found in this series is a sketchbook Battenberg kept during his time in the military; sketches of fruits and vegetables; and artwork used to create Battenberg's "ASU Art Museum Cuba Travel Trip" booklet of sketches.
