Scope and Contents
The papers of sculptor John Frederick and art critic Mary Horgan Mowbray-Clarke measure 0.4 linear feet and date from 1887 to 1965, with the bulk of the material dating from 1887 to 1925. The collection consists of scattered biographical material, professional and personal correspondence, writings and notes, business records, printed material, and artwork. Some material relates to the Sunwise Turn Book Shop operated by Mary Horgan Mowbray-Clarke.
Sunwise Turn Book Shop material is found within the correspondence and business records series. A poster and a exhibition catalog for John Frederick Mowbray-Clarke were printed by the book shop.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
The collection was donated in 1964 to 1968 by William Wilson, whose relationship to the Mowbray-Clarkes is unclear.

The Harry Ransom Center at The University of Texas at Austin holds the Sunwise Turn Bookshop Records, circa 1897-1958 (bulk 1916-1927).
