Much of the correspondence is related to Higgins's activities with the organizations Midwest Designer-Craftsmen, the American Craftsmen's Council, the Illinois Craftsmen's Council, and others. Series 2:Professional Files, 1951-1969

The series contains drawings; exhibition records containing lists, loan forms, and other material; a proposal by Chicago craftsmen to turn the Robie House into the Midwest Museum of Contemporary Crafts; a partial transcript of a panel talk and typescript of a review by Higgins of a Kenneth Bates show at the Chicago Art Institute; and photographs of work in the exhibition Contemporary Living (1952). Also found are organizational files consisting of founding documents, meeting minutes, bulletins, financial and administrative records, photographs, and scrapbooks. Scrapbooks include photographs and biographical information on craft artists for an exhibition organized by the Midwest Designer-Craftsmen, an organization in which Higgins was a founding member. Higgins also served on the Board of Trustees for the American Craftsmen's Council. Additional organizational material can be found in Series 1.
