The papers of painter Nell Choate Jones measure 0.5 linear feet and date from 1893 to 1977. Found are artworks, biographical material, correspondence, exhibition lists of the National Association of Women Artists, photographs of works of art, printed material, and two mixed-media scrapbooks, one of which is a fragment.

The collection received a preliminary level of processing upon receipt and was microflimed on reels 1003-1004 and 1008. The collection was processed, and a finding aid prepared by Jayna Josefson in 2022 with support from the Smithsonian American Women's History Initiative.
