Biographical/Historical Note
Violet Mattersdorfer Sigismund (1904-2003) was a painter, printmaker, and art teacher in New York City, New York. She studied at the Art Students League and exhibited her works through various organizations, artists groups, and annual exhibitions. In addition to her painting career, Sigismund was an elementary school teacher.
