This series contains mainly incoming correspondence with curators, dealers, museums, clients, and artists regarding sales, loans of artwork, exhibitions, and other professional dealings. Notable correspondence is with Ansel Adams, John Taylor Arms, Alexander Brook, Frank Crowninshield, Mrs. Edsel Ford, Jane Heap, Hilla Rebay, Harry Sternberg, William Stieg, Marion Willard, and from Lynton Kistler to Carl Zigrosser expressing his desire to exhibit his collection of hand-printed lithographs by Jean Charlot, Warren Newcombe, Elise Seeds, Beatrice Wood, Paul Sample, Alexander Archipenko, and others.
The series is arranged alphabetically by person or organization name, subject, city, or state.
