Jervis McEntee Diary Entry, May 18, 1875, from the Jervis McEntee papers, 1850-1905, in the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution

Went home on Saturday by the Wallkill Valley. Cold and raw & windy on Sunday. The hall stove was taken down but we sat by a good fire on the hearth all day. Major Sykes, Roora and Miss Galis and Miss Roora dined with us. Came back on Monday by Hudson River road. Gifford, Wilkinson & his wife on the train. Council in the evening. This morning went to Cottiers to see the pictures, to Goupils and to Snedecors. Rouse called and Story in the afternoon.
