Started for Boston by way of Rhinebeck and Connecticut R. R. by the 10.30 ferry boat. At state line took the Connecticut Western train to Hartford. A charming ride through a very varied and picturesque country. At Hartford had an hour and a half to wait. Had my dinner and got on the train for Boston from N.Y. via Springfield & Worcester. Arrived in Boston at 10.30 and staid at the Parker House.
