Friday, Feb 3, 1882 I sent Emma Brace a present of a rug which I found out she meant to buy with her first earnings. Painted on my Nevada picture. Annie Norton & Mrs. Curtis called. Attended the Artists Dinner at the University place restaurant. The place is too [?] and I did not sleep well. Major Wilkinson called also [?] Teale.
