This subseries consists of drafts and manuscripts of stories by Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney, many of which were written as part of a professional writing course at Columbia University taught by Helen Hull in the early-1940s and including one written under the pseudonym Phyllis Lane. Also found are critiques by Hull of some of the stories, and certain stories that may or may not have been written by Whitney, which are noted in the title of the folders in the list below.
