Scope and Contents
The papers of Dominican American installation artist Moses Ros measure 3.9 linear feet and date from 1975 to 2023. The collection is comprised of files for several New York City Housing Authority commissions, as well as architecture, sculpture, and mural projects; professional files for Dominican York Proyecto GRAFICA, MUD/BONE Print Studio, and a New York American Institute of Architects residency; printed materials; and artwork that includes doodles, sketches, mock ups, and a paper and feather mask.
2023 addition includes commission files for sculptures for the Fulton Center, logo for the Urban Arts Cooperative, additional material for "Mi Casita" and "Cheery People" scuptures, and proposals for other projects. Additional professional material includes photographs of murals, resumes, and material on various exhibitions Ros participated in, such as "Tyranny's Tears." Also included are additional printed material in the form of clippings, exhibition announcements and catalogs, and press releases. The 2023 addition also includes some sketches and art prints. A number of video recordings related to 'Moses Ros: Visual Artist," a public access television show centered around Ros are also part of the 2023 addition.
